PBS: The American Experience: Reconstruction: The Second Civil War.
The period of Reconstruction after the Civil War is one of the least remembered parts of American history, precisely because it is, perhaps, the period that is least convenient and least comfortable for Americans to remember. I missed this film when it was first released eight years ago. Compelling stuff.
